If you have been out you will see the amount of work carried out by Rob and his team. They

What's been happening on the third green?

POSTED
November 28, 2017

The first problem is that there was a constant wet patch because the drainage wasn't working properly

A secondary problem is that a number of our greens are "floating" on a bed of residual thatch.

The solution to both of these problems is drainage and aeration. Dryer root zones are warmer, encouraging root growth, and oxygen allows the thatch layer to break down.

Air2g2 Machine

Our air injector machine is in frequent use to encourage this process. If you want to see air injection in action, "Air2g2" on YouTube will oblige.

New drainage pipes have been put in place and connected to the system under the green.

The work in this area is nearing completion and the holes will be filled in and turfed over in the next few days, weather permitting.

Adidas Adizero Tour shoe ban.

POSTED
March 29, 2017

Regrettably it has become necessary to ban Adidas Adizero golf shoes from the course.

The design of the sole means that they leave large indentations in softer greens, which are only to be expected at this time of year.

Many other clubs have done the same.
